Zina Swapp Broderick born August 31, 1934 in Kanab, Utah, peacefully passed away on October 27th 2019 in St. George, Utah. Zina was the oldest of the five children of James “Mark” and Ruanna (Judd) Swapp. She graduated from Kanab High school and then moved to southern California where she met Clyne Broderick. The two were married in the St. George Temple in 1956. They had four children and enjoyed living in Southern California for many years and recently returned to live in their home state of Utah. Zina was kind to everyone, and all who knew her loved her. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, but she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and baking. Her hands were rarely still and many of those she loved keep warm with a “Zina Quilt.” She is survived by her husband Clyne, her children Geraldene Petersen (Mark), James Broderick (Julie), Dianna Thatcher (Jeffrey), and Kimberly Peck (Robert), 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Chyrel Swapp, Bain Swapp, Janet Dixon, and Hattie Swapp. Graveside services will be at the Kanab City Cemetery on Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 pm.
Zina you were the best big sister a girl could ever ask for. I’m sure you had better things to do and places to be rather than fight the awful contagious disease that took you so fast. I’m sure you are enjoying your heavenly home and all the family who have gone before & since joined you. I will always remember you & the help and strength you secretly gave me.
