William “Bill” Simington

William “Bill” Simington, 84, of Fredonia, Arizona, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 1, 2026. Born on April 25, 1942, in Greeley, Colorado, Bill lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

As a young man, Bill answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army where he served as a tank mechanic. His military service instilled in him a strong work ethic and sense of duty that would define the rest of his life. Those who knew Bill understood that he was never one to sit idle. He could almost always be found outside, working on one project or another, content in the satisfaction of keeping busy with his hands.

Bill shared thirty loving years with his beloved wife, Lottie Hildebrand, a partnership built on deep affection and companionship. Her passing in 2018 left a profound absence in his life, though he carried her memory with him always. Together, they built a large and loving family that remained the center of Bill’s world.

Among his greatest joys were fishing and hunting, pursuits that connected him to the outdoors he loved so dearly. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or heading out into the field, Bill found peace and fulfillment in the natural world around him.

Those who encountered Bill, whether family, friend, or stranger, were met with his warm and ever-present smile. He was a man of remarkable compassion, the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His kindness was not occasional but constant, a defining quality that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Hildebrand. He is survived by his sons, Bryan Simington and Bill Simington Jr.; his daughters, Cathleen Tait, Donna, Carolyn Golliher, and Dyann; as well as numerous extended family members and friends whose lives were made richer by his presence.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends as arrangements are finalized. The family kindly asks that Bill be remembered as he lived, with a smile and a generous heart.
