Vernal Ray Ellsworth died September 25, 2024 in Yucaipa, California at his home. He was born December 29, 1932 in Southgate, California to Cyrena Morris and Francis Karl Ellsworth. He married Mary Jane Young on May 22, 1950. They spent most of their married life living in Yucaipa, Calif. Mary died in 2019.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 in Yucaipa, and a graveside service was held Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the Kanab Utah Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab.
