Tina Sweet

Tina Louree Sweet, 57, of Kanab, Utah, died tragically on December 23, 2021 of accidental choking.
Tina was born and raised in Northern California’s Bay Area and was the youngest of 8 children. While growing up in the 70s and 80s her family lived next to Shore Acres Elementary, making Tina and her family well known by everyone in the Shore Acres (Bay Point) area. Tina attended Mt. Diablo High School and was the class of 1983.
Shortly after high school, Tina met the love of her life Mark Ortiz who was also from Bay Point. Tina was common law married to Mark for 20 years and they had two children Taijah and John Ortiz. They spent many years together living in Antioch, California. Tina and her family relocated to Kanab, Utah in 2000.
In 2004 Tina married her current husband and sweetheart of 16 years Robert Cienfuegos. The two had eloped in Las Vegas and loved going to the casinos in their free time.
Tina had an adventurous spirit and was such a fun person to be around. You would know she was having a great day if you heard her blasting Shania Twain with the top off her convertible while driving in the Kanab Ranchos. She lived to love her children and grandchildren. She loved to buy anything fancy, and gifting people things. She was always so selfless and kind.
Tina was of the Christian faith and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. Her testimony showed vibrantly by the constant kindness she gave others. She truly was a light of love in this world that will be greatly missed.
Tina is preceded in death by her mother, Cenia Sweet Barnett; her father, Clint Barnett; oldest sister, Cissy Milton; her first love, Mark Ortiz; stepson, Vincent Cienfuegos and best friend Valarie White.
She is survived by her daughter Taijah Ortiz Amavizca (Alonso Amavizca) and grandchildren America, Alanna & Alijah Amavizca. Her son, John Ortiz; her stepchildren Angela, Celena and Tony Ortiz. Her husband, Robert Cienfuegos; stepdaughter Shannon Cienfuegos, and granddaughter Tabitha Cienfuegos. Her siblings, Frank Hunt, Jeanie Ortiz, Belinda Delgado, Lisa Salisbury, Mark Hernandez, Mike Barnett; extended family and her best friend of 50 years Sherry Knight.

Funeral services for Tina will be held on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at Mosdell Mortuary, 676 South Highway 89A, Kanab, Utah. There will be a viewing starting at 12:00 noon with a memorial service at 1:00 pm. Following the services Tina will be laid to rest in the Kanab Cemetery.
