Terry Cameron

Our sweet Terry Dee Cameron passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 after battling Polymyositis her whole life. Born on March 8, 1960 in Kanab, Utah, Terry was the oldest child of Marvin and Deon Button. Terry graduated from Kanab High School and left shortly after for Evan’s Beauty School in Provo Utah. She had a lot of fun with friends while earning her cosmetology license. Terry worked as a beautician for 35 years. She made many friends while working in various salons, including Dorothy‘s in Hurricane and Linda’s and LaBella‘s in Kanab. During those years Terry also spent countless hours beautifying the ladies at long term care, and lovingly completing the final finishing touches for many at Mosdell Mortuary. Terry’s pride and joy, Kerry Layne Brown, was born November 25, 1981. Terry married the love of her life, Joseph Rod Cameron, September 25, 1996. Terry had long list of dear friends and lots of family that she kept close track of. The pages of her calendar were completely full of birth, death, and anniversary dates. Her dad lovingly gave her the nickname “Southern Utah News” partly because of her fond connection with her police scanner. If anyone needed the scoop, Terry was always their first call. Terry had a variety of pets from a skunk to cats and a few English Bulldogs. She loved and spoiled them all. Though Terry was in pain most of her life she was generally happy and loved visiting friends and spending time with family. Terry was preceded in death by her son Layne Brown and father Marvin Button. She is survived by her husband Rod Cameron, mother Deon Button, brothers Van (Brenda) Button, Danny (Natali) Button, Sister Beverly Doss and many well loved nieces and nephews. The family graciously thanks the many friends that popped in to visit Terry and for the countless hours of patient, kind caregiving from all her Doctors, nurses and staff at long term care.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Kanab South Chapel, 604 So HWY 89A. There will be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 am prior to the funeral. Burial in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.

I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers for your family. I so enjoyed visiting with Terry at the care center. She was next to my Mom, Michelle Aulger. Mom was happy she had a friend to visit with.

The Class of 78 is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear classmate Terry. She has been the nucleus of our class for many years- keeping track of everyone and helping bring us together for class reunions. She will be missed but we believe she has earned a special place is heaven because she lived a Christ-like life and her loving kindness will forever be in our hearts.

May the Spirit be with all the family and friends of this very, very special person.

The Kanab High School class of 1978 will be forever grateful for everything that Terry did for our class. She kept track of everyone and organized reunions so we could keep in touch. Terry was a fantastic friend to everyone in our class and was great organizer for us. She really was an incredible and outstanding Rock Star for the Class of ’78. We’ll miss her.
