Theodore “Ted” Norman Kocjan, age 72 of Page, AZ passed away Friday, March 28th, 2025. He was born February 27, 1953, in Canyon City, CO to Paul and Myrtle Kocjan, the seventh of ten children.
The family moved to Arizona – first to Bitter Springs, then to Page, in 1958. His father Paul started a construction company, which developed into Kocjan Enterprises, Inc. The entire family – all 10 children, Myrtle and Paul- worked very hard to literally help construct the infrastructure for the dam and the town of Page. They were truly among the first pioneers.
Those who knew Ted will remember him for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone and everyone no matter what the task. He left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. If anything needed to be built or repaired, Ted was the go-to guy. It was a given in the family, that if Ted couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed
Ted graduated from PHS in 1971. He was a member of the freshman basketball team and on the annual staff his junior and senior year. Usually, he had little time for extracurricular activities due to his work requirements with the family business.
Ted married Rendia Moore in 1973 and later divorced. They had 3 sons Jeremy, Paul and Kristopher.
Ted was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his boys and grandchildren, four wheeling, playing games, bowling, house boating and skiing on Lake Powell. Ted found great joy in bowling on the league with his good friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Myrtle; sister Dorothea Stickler, brother Wendell, brother-in-law Ron Migliacci, and his son Kristopher.
He is survived by sons Jeremy (Dusty), Paul (Danielle), brothers Gerry (Jan), John, sisters Paulette, Valerie (John) Schoppmann, Gwen (Dugan) Warner, Marla Migliacci, Teresa (Jerry) Halfmann. Brother-in-law Michael Stickler and Daughter-in-law Heather Kocjan. Eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12th, 2025 at the Page Elks Lodge. Cremation arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
Although Ted’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire us.
