Steven LaVoy Starley, Sr.

Steven LaVoy Starley, Sr., 54, died on August 1, 2021 from complication of COVID/pneumonia at the St. George Hospital.  He was born August 30, 1966 to Dell LaVoy Starley, Jr and Patsy Bushnell Starley in Cedar City, UT. 

Steve graduated from Millard High School in 1984. He joined the National Guard in 1985 and served his country in the 145th Field Artillery for 15 years. His military service was interrupted for 2 years when he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Charolette, NC.  Besides being able to fix anything, he was a man a several trades: massage therapist, respiratory therapist, truck driver extraordinaire and spent many years fighting wild fires for the BLM.

He was predeceased by his mother, Patsy Bushnell Starley. Surviving are his sons, Steven LaVoy Starley Jr., Derrick Colten Starley and his wife and son, Lexie and Granger, Kayden McKay Starley and his wife and children, Stephanie, Grace, Audrey and Kayson and his daughter, Bree Anne Starley; Father, Dell LaVoy Starley Jr. and his wife, Suzie; Brothers, Brian Clinton Starley and his wife, Laura and Jason Kyle Starley and his wife, Trishia; Sisters, Janette Starley Conz and her husband, Mark, Denice Starley and her husband, LaVelle, Lisa Starley and her husband, Edmond, Marcie Starley Wilde-Vercelli and her husband, Jason, and Marcia Starley Anderson and her husband, Bryan; Close friends Anna Starley and Kim Dowell and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

A service of his loving remembrance will be held August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ Chapel located at 25 S 300 W, Fillmore, UT. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM the same day, same location. Flowers for the funeral can be sent to Ladybug Floral and Events, 180 E Center St, Fillmore, UT  84631 (435) 773-5590.
