Sherman W. Cox

Sherman W. Cox passed away, at the age of 69, on November 10th, 2021. He was born September 8th, 1952 in Cedar City, Utah to Neldon W. and Eva J. Cox, the youngest of 4 children. He attended elementary school in Glendale and graduated from Valley high School in 1970. He attended college at Denver Tech and got a degree in mechanics. Sherman was drafted in November 1971 at the end of the Vietnam War. He served 2 years active and 4 years inactive. He married his high school sweetheart, Loralee Frost, in February 1972 before leaving for basic training. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served numerous years in scouting and mentoring the young men of his community. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, working with wood, exploring God’s country, and gardening.
Sherman’s greatest joys in his life were his family. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years Loralee; 4 children James (Melissa) Cox, Benjamin (Murrie) Cox, Sarah (Troy) Nelson, and Paul (Michelle) Cox; 17 grandchildren, and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sibings. He generously and quietly served others. He will be missed!
Services will be held in the Glendale Utah LDS Church on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
