Sheldon Cox

Sheldon verdell Cox, age 57, passed away on January 10, 2021 of natural causes.  Sheldon had been a long time resident of TURN services.  Sheldon lived a happy and fulfilling life.  With his infectious smile and laugh he was a delight to his family, the staff at TURN and his many friends.

Sheldon was born on April 22, 1963 in Henderson Nevada to Marion and Valoyce Cox.  He attended Helen J Stewart School in Las Vegas Nevada obtaining a certificate of completion at age 18. He enjoyed going out for pop and ice cream cones.  When he was young he was a member of the Boy Scouts.  As an adult he participated in Special Olympics obtaining many medals in various events.  He liked to go bowling and loved to go camping.  Sheldon enjoyed going to church services at his local ward and was known to go up some times and sit on the stand with the bishopric.

Sheldon is survived by his sister Ruth (Nolan) Warby of Logan Utah, MaryLynn  (Allen)Prows of Cedar City,  Leone Cox of Cedar City , Cleo Rust of Cedar City and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leland Cox. 

The family would like to thank TURN services for the excellent care offered him over the past several years, Iron County Home Health Care and Zions Way Hospice at his passing.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 16, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Glendale Utah cemetery.
