11/17/1955 – 08/13/2021
Our beloved Scott passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2021. He was our brightest ray of sunshine. All who knew him will agree his humor and kind heart are beyond compare. He loved to make people happy by making them laugh. Everybody loves Scott, especially kids, because he was an overgrown kid himself. His nickname is Nortie to family and close friends.
Scott was born on November 17, 1955. He grew up in Draper, Utah, and spent time as a kid with his Grams and Gramps in Pleasant Grove, Utah. It gives us some peace now to know he is with them again, along with his recently deceased sister Cathy, and many other relatives and friends.
His proudest day came with the birth of his son, Stephen. Stephen has been able to count on his dad, and knows he can continue to do so when needed.
Denese and Scott celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in February, and he was her best friend too. They worked hard together to realize their dream of early retirement and moving permanently to Kanab in 2019. Their dream life was cut short, but it was filled with lots of love and belly laughs.
Scott started Crane Glass Company over 30 years ago. Throughout those years, he made many friends. In 2015 his business was highlighted in the Zions Bank Speaking on Business radio program.
He loved the outdoors, shooting guns, driving fast cars and motorcycles, riding ATVs, and any work he could do on a tractor.
Survived by his wife Denese, son Stephen, parents Clyde and Ora Crane; siblings Richard (Gloria) Crane, Jim (Debra) Crane, Claudia Blackburn; in-laws Linda Wilson, Julie (Jon) Owens, Allen (Jennifer) Madill; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and his best furry friend Barney.
Thank you so much Nortie for all the great memories you left us. We love you.
Graveside services will be held August 21, 2021, at the Kanab City Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
Are family has so many great memories with Scott. He put windows in our home in Draper and was a great friend and customer of ours at Richins Service. Put many windshields in our customers cars. Sending you tons of hugs and love at this tender time. We treasure our friendship with all of you. Love from Linda (LeLand😇) Richins families
