Scott Ashton

Scott was born in California on Christmas Eve, 1953 to William and Lucille Ashton. He met our beautiful and amazing mother, Virginia Louise, in the summer of 1989. They were married in the fall and they lived a full and adventurous life for 21 years together until our mothers passing in 2010. Our mother was his whole life and he is now with her to spend the rest of eternity.

Scott became a step-father in 1989 to 4 children that he called his own from day one. We could not have asked for a better step-dad.  He taught us so many things like how to ride motorcycles, shoot guns, make bullets, catch and gut a fish, and amazing yearly camping trips to Mammoth. He taught us how to earn a dollar and also how to bet and loose that dollar – teaching us to work hard for everything we have.  He taught us responsibility and how to survive and was a huge part in who we became as adults, good or bad. We all have never ending memories of the life we had with him and they will never be forgotten.

Scott loved cars – buying, selling, and fixing. He worked at several dealerships up and down the California Coast before getting his Building Inspectors License for the City of Lathrop where he worked until he retired in 2000 and moved to Fredonia, AZ.

He loved Fredonia/Kanab and would never leave. He knew so many wonderful people here and everyone knew him. Most people had bought, sold, or traded something with him in the 18 years he was there. And if they weren’t sure of his name they knew him by his overalls!

Scott passed away August 7, 2018. He is survived by his son Michael Dunn & his wife Christina and granddaughter Kayla; son Aaron Dunn and his wife Jennifer and grandsons Isaac and Connor; daughter Carrie Scheuneman and grandson Trevor; son Mark Dunn and his wife Michelle and granddaughter Jazzlyn.

Scott will be forever missed and forever loved with memories to last our lifetime.

Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
