Pamela Mary Owen Olds, 75, of Cedar City, Utah, passed away after a long battle with cancer at her home surrounded by family on September 5, 2026.

Pam was born on January 10, 1951, in Muleshoe, Texas, to Carey “Bud” Owen and Jean Rosemary Owen. She later made Cedar City her home and graduated from Cedar High School in 1969.

Throughout her life, Pamela worked at Hughes Cafe, Anderson Lumber, and Stock Building Supply. But the titles she treasured most were wife, mother, and grandmother.

Pam shared her life with her husband, Larry Douglas Olds, whom she loved dearly. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She was the proud mother of Mackenzie Lee Olds Fly and Chance Larry Olds and his wife, Ember Olds. Her grandchildren—Lexis Lee Olds, Tietsie Jean Fly, Kruz Fly, Chanley Dawn Olds, and Heston Sheldon Olds—brought her tremendous pride and joy.

If you knew Pam, you knew exactly where you stood with her. She was straightforward, blunt, and to the point, and she made no apologies for being herself. She had her own unmistakable style, a quick wit, and a sense of humor that those closest to her will never forget. Pamela didn’t need to sugarcoat things to show that she cared. The people she loved knew just how deeply she loved them.

Pam had a special place in her heart for animals of every kind. She also loved watching her daughter and grandchildren rodeo and spent countless hours supporting them from the sidelines. For many years, she volunteered with local barrel racing clubs, giving her time to a community and sport that became an important part of her family’s life. Some of her happiest moments were simply being there, watching the people she loved do what they loved.

Above everything else, Pam loved her family. She was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren and cherished the life she shared with Larry. Her presence, humor, honesty, and unmistakable personality will leave an empty space that simply cannot be filled.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Jean Owen; her in-laws, Sheldon and O’Dean Olds; her brother, Keith Owen; and her precious granddaughter, Everly Raye Olds.

Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who supported Pam and her family, checked in on her, helped when it was needed, loved her, and—most importantly—made sure she knew how much she was cared for. Those acts of kindness meant more than words can adequately express.

A visitation will be held September 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the LDS Church at 1650 West Center Street, Cedar City, with a graveside at 11:00 AM at the Cedar City Cemetery. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.

Pam lived life as herself—strong-willed, funny, straightforward, devoted to her family, and never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. Those who knew and loved her wouldn’t have wanted her any other way.

She will be deeply missed, endlessly remembered, and forever loved.
