Nicklas Wright

Heaven gained a cowboy on Feb 24th, 2019. Nicklas Harold Wright passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a long struggle from the effects of Multiple Sclerosis. He fought the good fight. Nick was born May 3rd, 1950 to William Harold and Joan Brown Wright. He enjoyed his high school years playing football and went on to play for 1 year at Dixie College. He was always very supportive of his boys in all of their sporting events. You always knew he was in the crowd because you could hear him.

His real love was horses. He loved rodeo, ranching and training horses. He began with his love for horses and rodeo as a little boy. He worked on several ranches over the years, however, most of his career was spent driving truck in one aspect or another. The majority being a log truck driver for Kaibab Industries.

He was married to Yvonne Forsyth for 27 years. They had four beautiful children. Nicole, Roxi, Yates, and JD. Nick later married Kaye Hafen-Peterson on March 2nd, 2013 where he gained four more children. Kelly, Val, Mitzi and Mica. Nick and Kaye have enjoyed the last 6 years together traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Nick is survived by his wife Kaye Wright, his children Nicole (James) Holland, Roxi (Brett) Pierson, Yates (Crystal) Wright, and JD (Jeri K) Wright. His brother Tony (Linda) Wright, and his sister Lonnie Kirby. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Ann Brown, his mother Joan Lee, his grandaughter Mia Nicole Holland, and his sister Julie Ann Wright. Nick has 14.5 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Kanab South Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (604 S 100 E, Kanab, UT) with the viewing starting at 11:30 AM. An evening viewing will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be at the Kanab City Cemetery.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Kane County Hospital for their awesome care to Nick.  Also thanks to Seasons Care and Rehabilitation in St George & Encompass Hospice.  We couldn’t have gotten through this rough time with out your care, support, and love.  Thank You all again so much!
