Nancy Folgheraiter

Nancy Folgheraiter, our beautiful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend found peace on August 19, 2018 in Washington, UT. Nancy was born on April 7, 1938 in No Man’s Mesa near Copper Canyon, UT. She was the daughter of the late Tom Laughter and Shirley Atene. She grew up with her family around Tall Mountain and Navajo Mountain. Nancy attended Chemawa Indian School in Salem, OR. She later attended Intermountain School in Brigham City, UT and received her associates degree from Utah State University in Logan, UT. Nancy devoted her time to her community and held several jobs including: Utah Navajo Development Council at the Navajo Clinic for 25+ years, chapter secretary for Navajo Mountain Chapter, and BIA as grandma. Nancy married Joe Folgheraiter on May 7, 1963. They lived a wonderful life together and had 7 amazing children.

Nancy is survived by her children: Gordon (Joan) Folgheraiter, Edward (Vernie) Folgheraiter, Terri (Al Cly) James, Shirl (Orrenzo) Folgheraiter-Snyder, Pearl (Cal) Lameman, and Shannon (William Beam) Folgheraiter; her siblings: Mary (Tom) Graymountain, Betty (Clyde) Johnson, Rose Neztsosie, Alice Smallcanyon, Irene Smith, Skacey Laughter, and John (Maggie) Laughter; 24 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren all whom she cherished. Nancy is also survived by her many half-siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Nancy was preceded by her husband: Joe Folgheraiter; son: Mike Blatchford; grandchild: Orrin Hawk Snyder; and great-grandchild: Olivia Kerri Mitchell.
