Mary Elliot Black

May 14th 1933 to August 29th 2021

Heaven gained a new angel on the evening of August 29th 2021. Mary Rose Craig Black passed away peacefully in her home in the loving care of her stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Black, while her husband Ivan Francis Black was being treated at KCH. Mary was loved by many, especially by her extended family that welcomed her into their family with open arms. She married Ivan on April 22nd 2014 surrounded by friends and her family.
Mary will be missed dearly by all. She was an active member of Rivers of Life church and enjoyed serenading her congregation with music, which Ivan and her did on most Sunday’s during service. Both Ivan and Mary enjoyed playing their omicords for their family and friends along with singing their favorite church hymns. Mary enjoyed meeting new people. She loved making others happy. She was known in her past for her yard sales where she made many lasting friendships. Her smile and laughter will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her. She is proceeded in death by her late husband Harland Elliot, two sons, Craig and Vaunn Elliot, her brother John Craig, sister Violet Koleburge her parents John T. Craig and Flowella Washburn and her step daughter Linnan Black Blackham. She will be sorely missed by her loving husband Ivan F. Black, many stepchildren, and sisters Leona Perry and Mahala Turner and 5 grandchildren. We love and miss you Mary. May you heart and soul find peace and comfort.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Kanab Cemetery.
