February 11, 1943 – April 15, 2025
Born in Ogden, Utah, to Eldon Flitton and Beth Hambleton, Louann left this world peacefully at her home in Apple Valley, Utah, on April 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She met the love of her life, Jesse Barlow, on March 2, 1960, in a movie theater, though their story began in the most unexpected way: another boy had stolen her shoe, and Jesse, ever the gentleman, tried to get it back for her. That small act of kindness sparked something special. Just one month and four days later, on April 6, 1960, they were married. What began with a chance meeting blossomed into 65 beautiful years and 9 days of life together, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
A woman of deep kindness and generosity, Louann taught her children the value of hard work, the joy of cooking, and the satisfaction of nurturing a garden. She worked alongside Jesse on their property, caring for the animals with the same dedication and care that she showed her family. Throughout her life, she worked several jobs, but her true passion and focus was always her family. She excelled at providing, whether it was raising animals or transforming simple ingredients into nourishing, home-cooked meals that always brought her loved ones together.
Louann was the embodiment of love, compassion, and devotion. Her legacy of kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and the many lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Matthew and his family, whose unwavering support and love made mom’s final months peaceful and full of care. A special thanks to her granddaughter, Leazal, for taking her to numerous appointments, having slumber parties, and gossip sessions; to Matthew, for providing a welcoming space in his home; and to Jenn, for everything she did with love, care, and complete devotion.
And as mom often said, “Jenn, let’s have another cup of coffee.”
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jesse, with whom she shared 65 years of love and companionship; and her children: Mark (Jody), Ann (Richard), Paul, Kurt (ReNea, Andelynn, Martha, and Amylia), Amee (Joe), Seth (Melanie), Malinda (Derek), Malissa, Sherri (Spencer), Mahonri (Stephanie), Matthew (Jennifer and Lezlie), and Mitchell (Amy). She also leaves behind a legacy of 118 grandchildren, 121 great-grandchildren, and one cherished great-great-grandchild who brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Beth and Bud Hambleton and Eldon Flitton; her cherished daughter, Shaunna; her sister, ElDeane Wood; her dear grandchildren, Billy, Braden, and Kristine; and her treasured little dog, Jazz. She also mourned the loss of her in-laws, Ianthus and Violet Barlow, along with many other dear family members and friends who went before her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bluffdale Stake Center, located at 2742 W 14400 S. Funeral services will take place at the same location on Saturday at 12:00 p.m., with an additional viewing one hour before.
Mosdell Mortuary in Kanab, Utah and Broomhead Funeral Home in Riverton, Utah acted as funeral directors.

Louann was a dear friend, we shared a lot of good times in the past, helping each other with kids, canning, and just support. She’ll always have a spot in my heart. I’m sure she’s having a great reunion.
