Linda Wright

Linda Fae Talbot Wright was born in Panguitch, Utah on November 5, 1948. She returned to her Heavenly home on Sunday, July 16, 2023 after enduring the terrible effects of Dementia. Linda was the fifth child of Lawrence “Jay” and Remona Beebe Talbot. At the age of 10, Linda lost a part of her heart that she would never completely recover from, when her mother died due to complications of childbirth. Her father would later marry Juanita Alfaro Dobson and add a stepsister and stepbrother to the family. After graduating from Panguitch High School in 1968, Linda attended and graduated from the Sevier Valley Tech’s cosmetology program.

She married her lifelong sweetheart, Antone B. Wright on February 5, 1971 in Kanab, Utah. Their marriage would later become eternal in the St. George Temple in 1977. In 1979 with the help of their friends and families, Tony and Linda built a home on the south end of Kanab where they would raise their three children (Wendy, Jason, & Joe B.) and live the rest of their lives together.

Mom worked as a cosmetologist for over 30 years eventually turning her mother-in-law’s salon into Linda’s Beauty Shop. After leaving that profession, Mom and her dear friend and sister-in-law Lonnie would open the Mayor’s House, a fabric and quilting store, in Kanab. Mom loved sewing, quilting, stitchwork, and crocheting. Mom would also help out with Dad at Chuckwagon Cookouts over the years.

Mom served faithfully in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including Relief Society President, Young Womens President, and Cub Scout Leader. Later in life, Mom loved her call to serve in the library. Embarrassed by tears that were always close to the surface, Mom was never one to express her testimony vocally, but instead lived her faith in the Savior by the way she lived and how she treated those around her.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, her sister Janice, brothers Roger and Daniel, stepbrother Tommy, and others that she loved and mourned for. Mom is survived by her eternal companion Tony, daughter Wendy (Chris), sons Jason (Marisha) and Joe B. (Staci), her brothers Tom and Larry, stepsister Marveline, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services for Mom will be under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary. A viewing will be held on Friday, July 21st at 9:30 am. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 21st at 12:00 pm at the Kanab South Chapel, 604 South 100 East, Kanab, Utah 84741. The Wrights express their sincere gratitude to Zion’s Way Hospice Care and the Beehive Home Memory Unit in St. George, Utah

Dear Tony, Joe B, Wendy and Jason.
Your precious Wife and Mother will be missed by all of us that knew and loved her. We never saw Linda express anything but love and caring for us all. She just didn’t get angry or annoyed with anyone. Quite a legacy to live up to! And she shared freely if anyone needed anything. You were very blessed to be in her family, or be a friend. Much love to you, Sam and Jan Smith
