Lexi Jo Sorensen entered this world on January 18th, 2014, in St. George, Utah, barely allowing her parents time to make it to the hospital only a few blocks away. She left this world just as suddenly and unexpectedly in a drowning accident, with her time of death on July 22nd.

She was a spark of life, strong and independent, smart and stubborn, creative and kind. She masked her loving personality behind a scowl and an eye roll, but often followed it with a hug, a kiss on the cheek, or a back scratch.

Her fiery personality helped her find success in the many things she did. Any given day she could be found fishing, drawing, playing sports, listening to music, reading, hanging out with friends, or as her friends described it, side questing. Wherever she was, she could be recognized by her favorite Florida Gators sweatshirt that she wore year round.

A ball of energy, she was fueled mostly by eating popcorn, potato chips, melted chocolate chips, and kinder chocolate bars, though she wasn’t ever one to turn down a nice steak or Hawaiian haystacks.

She loved animals, and they loved her. It was surprisingly common for her to be seen stroking wild birds, holding handfuls of lizards, or even petting deer. Because of this love, she leaves behind a dog, a cat, four rabbits, five goldfish, and twelve chickens she hatched from an incubator she wanted for Christmas.

Lexi was aware of the needs of others, constantly serving in secret ways, never wanting recognition. Her final selfless act of service was that of becoming an organ and tissue donor, using her passing as a way to change lives.

Lexi is survived by her parents, Joseph and Shalisse, three older siblings, Desi, Tyson, and Makenzi, four younger siblings, Kason, Karli, Dash, and Rydli, three grandparents, Colleen Sorensen and Craig and Jeannette Seegmiller, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Gone too young, she will never be forgotten.

Funeral services for this loved child will be held on July 31st at 12:00 Noon in Orderville, Utah at the Orderville LDS Chapel. 35 S Center St, Orderville, UT 84758. A viewing will be held in her honor on Thursday, July 30th from 6:00-7:30 and July 31st from 10:00-11:30.
