She was involved with many kinds of arts throughout her life. Laurel played the piano, wrote hymn texts, and enjoyed working with composers to create music. She was a gifted writer and an avid reader. She enjoyed scrapbooking and created pottery that she shared with her family and friends.

Dear Roberts and Frost family.
So sorry to hear about Laurel! She was one of the people I looked up to in high school. She was beautiful, kind and talented. And when she married Jeff Frost it was like a fairytale princess marring the prince! She was a great example! Sending lots of love to your whole family especially Celia!
Love, Marcy McAllister Hadean
I am shocked and saddened by the loss of Laurel. She was so talented and I had the pleasure of writing two hymns this past year (2025) with her. One was submitted to the 2025 Church Music Submissions, Hymn Cateroy where it won an award. The title was “O Lord Be Thou My Shepherd.”. I would love to attach the music but don’t see a way to do that. If anyone would like a copy, just email me: kkholyoak@gmail.com Sending love and prayers for a very special friend. Kathleen
I am shocked and saddened by the death of Laurel! In 2025, we wrote a couple of hymns together and “O Lord Be Thou My Shepherd” was submitted in the 2025 Church Music Submissions, Hymn category, where it won an award. I would love to share it so if anyone is interested in having a copy, email me at kkholyoak@gmail.com.
Laurel was so talented and I had no idea she had cancer. What a gift she was to the world but I am sure she will continue to share her many talents in her new and higher dimension. Kathleen
laurel was very beautiful inside and out. she was a friend to every one.
Dear Frost and Roberts Families,
My heart is saddened to hear of Laurel’s passing, my love and sincere condolences go to you all. My first recollection of Laurel was working with her at the Kanab Frostop. She taught me how to make the best rootbeer freezes and shakes. Her kindness was genuine and always extended towards everyone she met. It came as no surprise when she married Jeff, they were the perfect couple. (Today, we would call them “Power Couples”.) Their relationship was inspiring. It was a forever relationship then, and will continue beyond this life. Jeff, hold true and remember the memories you’ve made. May you find comfort and peace in God’s plan and feel His love.
With love,
Lisa Hafen Reber
I’m so shocked and saddened by Laurel’s passing. Laurel and I collaborated 12 years ago on a song called “My Voice Thou Shall Hear in the Morning.” Here is a link, for those who would like to hear it: https://youtu.be/3TCV4t6O1fo?si=7CzgLf5K3Qp4rcxz
I’ve always loved the message and the music. It came together rather quickly, and we both liked it a lot. Laurel was so gifted as a writer and poet. I read many of her poems and hoped I could set more of them. I know Laurel and her husband are not active members of the Mormon church, and I am no longer a member. However, the messages she created in her writings and poems are still important in giving the world a spiritual anchor, helping others on their own spiritual journey. I loved her poems and writings so much that after I was no longer able to compose, I introduced my cousin, Kathleen Holyoak, to her writings, and they collaborated on a hymn that received an honorable mention in the church music contest.
My heartfelt condolences go to all her family and loved ones.
Laurels gifts to my family will endure forever. . Thank you Frosts for sharing your mom, thank you Laurel for a your selfless service to others. The Murdock-Durkins love you
I am also shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Laurel. We were recently planning on getting together to talk about what is going on in our lives. I regret that we never could coincide in this time with each other’s presence. When I moved to Hurricane after retirement and not having any family closer than 4 hours away, Laurel appeared as one of my first friends. I remember Laurel always taking time to doing service for others and in her heart knowing what they were needing. Once she asked me to help with a service project, making different things to donate to Primary Children’s Hospital. I’m sure Laurel will be happy by still be doing service to others from the other side, whether it be for family who have passed and to her family (& friends) here on earth. I have been blessed in knowing and having her in my life. You will be missed, my dear friend. With love, Annie Johnson
To Laurel’s family: I’m sorry for your loss and I share your grief. It’s been quite a few years since I saw Laurel, but I still remember details of her kindnesses. For example, in the ‘90’s when I was staying with Natalie and attending college, she lived nearby and brought me a present on my birthday. I thanked her and said, “You guys didn’t have to bring me a present.” She said, “That’s what made it so fun! We didn’t have to, we just wanted to.” I thought that was the nicest response anyone could give. She definitely made people feel at ease, like Chelsea said in the memorial service today. And BTW it was a wonderful service!
Love,
cousin Lisa
Dear Frost and Roberts family,
I’m deeply saddened to hear of Laurels passing. I first met Laurel in High School and considered her a dear friend. She had the most adorable sense of humor and we laughed a lot when we were together. Laurel was kind, sweet and a friend to all.
I have thought of Laurel and Jeff many times over the years with affection and admiration. I pray your family will feel peace and comfort and Laurels loving presence.
