LaRee Lowder Burrows

Our sweet mom went into the loving arms of her husband on the other side on Tuesday June 27, 2023.
She was born the 14th child (10 that survived) to Jesse Frank Lowder and Mary Alice Bentley on June 9, 1931 in Parowan, UT.
Her parents passed away when she was a teenager. As a result, she lived all over the state helping her brothers and sisters with their families.
She married and divorced in 1951. She then moved to Hatch, UT to live with her brother Karl and family. From that union she had her first child, Roseanna in October of 1951.
She married the love of her life, Max A Burrows on November 20, 1953 in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Hatch where they were blessed with Robert in October of 1954. Max worked for Garkane and they moved to Glen Canyon City, UT in 1957 to run power for the building of the Glen Canyon Dam. They moved to Fredonia in 1960 and made that their forever home. Their third child, Lorie was born January of 1964.
LaRee worked her whole life. Always contributing to the family. Before she married, she worked as a nanny/cook for a family in California, she worked for Barbazon in Springville, and cleaned rooms at Ruby’s Inn. After she moved to Fredonia, she cleaned rooms at Red Hills Motel. She had entertaining stories about when the movies were in town. She worked at Barco sewing plant making uniforms. She started volunteering for the Fredonia School in 1970 when Lorie was in 1st grade. They hired her full time in 1972 as a teacher’s aide. She loved working with the kids. She worked for the elementary school for 27 years until retiring.
LaRee had many hobbies. She loved working in the garden. She would replant the flowers in the yard that Max would mow off. She did custom sewing for many of the townspeople. She was an accomplished quilter. She loved making the charity quilts that she and her best friend, Rose Huntington would make. They lost track of how many they made together.
Max and LaRee spent their retirement years going between Fredonia in the winter and their property in Hatch in the summer. They really enjoyed their time in Hatch with their family. She spent the last 10 years going between Milford, UT with Lorie and Washington, UT with Robert with trips to Hatch in the summer. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of them. She loved them very very much.
LaRee is survived by her children, Rosanna (Mel) Lawson of Twain Harte, CA, Robert M (Gailia) Burrows of Washington, UT, and Lorie (Alan) Schow of Milford, UT. 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 9 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Max Burrows, a granddaughter, her parents, and all 13 of her siblings.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Milford Memorial Hospital for all the loving care they showed mom and the family during her final journey.
There will be a Celebration of Life and memory share at Mosdell Mortuary in Kanab, Utah from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Utah time. Graveside Services will be at the Fredonia Cemetery following the celebration.
