Kim Sherwood

Kim Kendall Sherwood, 66, passed away April 7, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born October 10, 1956 in Payson, Utah to Glen Stanley and Laura Nell Sherwood. He married the love of his life Alleen Miller on May 16, 1975 in the Manti LDS Temple.

Kim started elementary in Levan, Utah and later graduated in Nephi. He continued his education to become a machinist. His machinist work brought him to the beautiful red hills of Kanab, Utah with a job at Kaibab and later working for Smith Pattern.

Kim enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was working on vehicles or tinkering with everything with his kids, grandkids, and neighbors. Creating things with wood was another one of his passions. He made cradles, picture frames, and craft items.

While living in Kanab, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping and 4 wheeling with family and friends. Kim loved watching his kids and supporting them in everything they did, from sports to rescuing them at any hour of the night, no matter where they were, he was always there.

A highlight of Kim’s life was his grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed every moment with each one of them. Him and Alleen supported them no matter which direction or miles away, the kids knew they would always be there in the stands cheering them on.

Kim is survived by his wife, of almost 48 years, Alleen, Children and their Spouses: Jason (Laura) of Kanab, Angie (Cody) of Kanab, Jeremy (Cynthia) of Kanab, Stacy (Jared) of Saint George, Alesha (Late Freddy) of Saint George, and Cambria (Devin) of Spring Creek, NV.

Mother: Laura Nell (Late Glen Stanley) of Kanab

Siblings: Dennis (Linda) of Saint George and Sandy (Jim) of Kanab.

Preceded in death by Glen Stanley Sherwood (Father), Glen Elwin Sherwood (Infant Brother), Freddy Arvizo (Son in Law), Charlee Noteman (Granddaughter). The viewing will be held Saturday, April 15th from 11:30-1:00 at Kanab Stake Center, 20 West Center Street. Funeral services to follow at 1:00. Interment will follow at the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab, UT. The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and support that has been shown.

Allene, saying we are sorry is never enough; but we want you all to know how sad we are for the whole family. It is never easy losing one we love. And although it might not be much consolation now just remember he is with God. Love and prayers to all of y’all!
