Kathryn Jane Waters, 73, of Kanab, Utah, passed away on March 27, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones at home.  Kathryn was born, along with her identical twin, Karen, on June 16, 1949 to Reed Fox and Dorothy Burns Fox in Brookfield, Pennsylvania.
     Kathryn moved to the Southwest in her early 20's.  By her mid 20's, she had met her children’s father and began her career as a very talented jeweler. In 1974, she had her son Sky, and in 1977 she had her daughter Crystal.  In 1980, she moved to Kanab as a single mother.  She remained in Kanab for over 40 years.  
     Kathryn was an avid nature lover.  She was very adventurous, and ran the Colorado River 9 times over the course of her life.  She loved camping, hiking, and being outdoors.  In her later years she began gardening and grew the most amazing garden year after year.  She also continued to make beautiful jewelry up until the last couple of years.
     Kathryn is predeceased by her father Reed and brother Homer.  She is survived by her 102 year old mother Dorothy; her son Sky (Aor) Waters; daughter Crystal (Aaron) Chamberlain; grandchildren Emory, Jacoby, and Cecilia; brother Gary; sisters Linda, Dimple and identical twin Karen; and her beloved dog Jake.
     At this time there is no date set for a service.  The family hopes to have a celebration of life sometime in the near future.  An announcement will be made when it becomes available.
     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in honor of Kathryn J. Waters, or simply plant a tree or garden in honor of her.
