Joseph W Cooke

Joseph William Cooke passed away April 29th in Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Utah State Park. He was born May 10, 1947 in Witsoe, Utah to William Benjamin Cooke and Rachel Balmforth. He grew up in a large family that worked hard and played hard. Growing up, he was described by everyone that knew him as full of life and very adventurous. He was athletic and scholastic.

He served in the United States Military from 1970 to 1972. He completed missile range training at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. After that he was stationed in Germany for the remainder of his term.
For most of his adult life, Joe was a long-haul truck driver. He loved to travel and see the sites of the country.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wiliam Benjamin Cooke, his mothers: Rachel Balmforth Cooke, Josephine Balmforth Cooke, and Myrtle Jenkins Cooke, his best friend and Uncle, Steven Balmforth, his brothers: Lynn Cooke, Jack Cooke, Richard Cooke, Dean Cooke, James Cooke and Darrel Cooke, his sisters: Ruth Cooke, Alice Cooke, Erna Steed, Vera Allred, Mary Barlow, Elisa Jessop, and his granddaughter, Rose Marie Barrett.
He is survived by his children: Barbara Jo Bowler, Joseph Preston Cooke, Travis Lee Cooke, Terilyn Nyborg, Wesley William Cooke, Dorothy Louise Cooke, Judy Rae Cooke, as well as 9 siblings, and 17 grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at the Mountain View Event Center, 580 West Academy Ave in Colorado City, Arizona. The funeral will start at 2:00 Utah time with a viewing 1 hour before the service. Burial in the Isaac Carling Memorial Cemetery.
