Joan LaRae Strong Larson, age 82, passed away December 16, 2019 in Kanab, Utah. She was born September 21, 1937 in Sale Lake City, Utah to Josephine Worthen DeLand and Maurice Shephard Strong. She married Howard Wayne Larson on May 26, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple in 1965.

Joan was a physical therapist for many years.  Over the years she enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, and quilting to name a few. She was involved with the LDS church for many years including Relief Society and Scouting.

She was a kind and loving woman that will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Survivors include husband, Wayne Larson; children Tony Larson, Gene (Wendy) Larson, Brent (Chris) Larson, Darren (Jennifer) Larson, Lisa (Kai) Krause, and David (Luana) Larson; brother Kenneth Strong; 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gerald Strong; and her sister, Larae Loverage.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Kaibab Stake Center, 1435 South McAllister Drive, Kanab.  There will be a viewing Saturday at the Stake Center from 10:00-10:45 AM for the public. Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery.  Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
