John Gilbert Winget, lovingly known as Jack, passed on into the eternities on July 19th, 2026. He lived and loved fully throughout his life.
 Jack was born to John Winget and Alma Young Winget in Los Angeles, California on October 16th, 1938.  The family moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where Jack grew up.  Fro the time he was small, he had a love for horses and nature.
 Jack met his sweetheart, Glenda Louella Finley, while visiting California.  Her mother introduced the pair, and it was love at first sight.  Jack and Glenda created a beautiful life together, living in harmony as husband and wife for 65 years.  They settled in Sandpoint, and had many joyful years on seven acres, raising their children along with goats, chickens, horses and more.
 Jack worked as a builder for Boise Cascade, where he gained a love of creating with his hands.  Eventually he and his brother opened a cabinet shop and found great satisfaction in building beautiful kitchens for people in the area.  He became a master craftsman who loved to serve others.  His hands made cutting boards for family and friends, custom light fixtures for his wife, rocking horses for children, and more.
 Jack and a friend enjoyed the adventure of a lifetime when they built a covered wagon and traveled with their horses from Jackpot, Nevada all the way to the Canadian Border.  He loved the title of Horseman, and he was a great camp cook along the way.  Jack and Glenda would take their children on many memorable trips, camping and fishing and enjoying the great outdoors.  To his family, he was the greatest Dad.
 After 38 winters in Northern Idaho together, Jack and Glenda moved to Kanab, Utah, where they enjoyed over two decades of living in the high desert.  There, they found cherished friends, and Jack continued building beautiful kitchens.  He traded his horses for ATVs and continued to love finding a trail to ride.
 Humor was woven throughout Jack’s life.  With his ready smile and sparkling blue eyes, he lightened up a room with wit and laughter.  He captured the hearts of everyone he came in contact with, whether it was a group of friends or a team of nurses.  Everybody loved Jack!
 Jack was always willing to give his time and attention to care for others.  He gave many hours to the local food bank, and cherished his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served as Bishop, High Councilor, High Priests Group Leader, and more.  He was a great minister and shared his love of the Savior with many.  To the end of his life, e was an ambassador for the Lord.
 Jack is preceded in death by his parents, his son Steven, and four brothers.  He is survived by his loving wife Glenda; their children Yvonne Cargill of Sagle, Idaho and Ronald Winget of Spokane, Washington; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  Many siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends also mourn his loss.
 Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Kanab Utah Kaibab Stake Center, 1435 McAllister Drive, Kanab, Utah.  Friends may call from 9:00-10:45 AM at the Stake Center. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab.
