Jacqueline Greer Adair

Jacqueline Ann Greer Adair passed away August 18, 2024 in Henderson, Nevada. She was born July 3, 1938 in Hurricane, Louisiana to James (Jack) Peyton Greer and Dorothy Lorraine Francis.

After graduating from Jena High School, in Jena, LA, she went to business school in Alexandria, LA. After which she worked as a secretary in Shreveport, LA. She worked there until 1959 when she was hired by Delta Airlines. While working as a flight attendant, she lived in Miami, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Atlanta. She flew many international trips, starting with flights to Caracas, Venezuela ending her career flying to Frankfurt, Germany. While commuting to work, she would keep busy doing exquisite needlework. While living in Las Vegas, she took piano lessons and learned to play.

She met her soul mate in Las Vegas, Wayne Adair, he was working for Delta, too. They were married April 15, 1979 in Las Vegas. Jackie not only got Wayne, but the whole Adair family, especially Wayne’s daughter, Jennifer and nephew, Chris. Am sure, sometimes she thought she got more than she bargained for.

Eventually, she tired of commuting to Atlanta, so they relocated there. While there they met many friends and enjoyed their company, traveling with them. Jennifer’s daughter, Alexa was able to stay with them and they were able to visit Jackie’s family in Florida and Louisiana.

Jackie retired in the 1990’s waiting for Wayne to join her. They left the city to move to Orderville, Utah, Wayne’s hometown. Another thing, Jackie didn’t bargain for. She learned to love living there and all the friends she made. She attended the Orderville 1st Ward for so long most people thought she was a member. It was during this time, she along with her late, good friend Rachel Cox were put in charge of funeral luncheons. She and Wayne did indexing for Family Search. They especially enjoyed doing “olde” 15th and 16th century English records. She helped for several years with the county fair. Jackie was always willing to serve.

Eventually, she was baptized a member of the LDS Church. She and Wayne went to the St. George Temple where their marriage was solemnized for time and eternity. Jackie was active in Relief Society, teaching the lessons for several years.

Some of her favorite things were her dogs; Blackie, Whitie, and Scruffy. Scruffy was her favorite. She would walk him, visiting neighbors along the way.

After Wayne’s passing on June 25, 2019 Jackie and Scruffy lived for several years in Orderville. They then moved to Henderson, NV living with Jennifer and Jorge. She eventually went into assisted living, where in true Jackie style she made many new friends. She especially loved the time she was able to spend with Alexa’s son, Jon Wayne.

Jackie is survived by her brother David (Penny) Greer and sister Susan (Tom) Greer Muccio, daughter Jennifer (Jorge) Adair Cota, granddaughter Alexa Adair and great grandson Jon Wayne Adair. She is also survived by nephews Randy Greer, Douglas Greer, Gabriel Perlman, Garrett Beau Greer and Nicholas Greer. Surviving nieces Jennifer Greer Wisdom and Hannah (Wesley) Greer Howard.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Wayne, parents, and brothers Joshua Rand Greer and Keith Greer.

A visitation will be held August 31, 2024 in the Orderville Chapel at 11:00am with services beginning at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in the Orderville Cemetery under the watchful care of Mosdell Mortuary.
