George Allen Reese, age 86, of Kanab, UT, passed away on July 12, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1939. He was taken out of the orphanage at 11 years old by Sebastian & Cecilia Wald.

George proudly served 4 years in the United States Army Air Corp. After his military service, he completed his education graduating at Cal-Poly State University, in Business Administration. George spent most of his time as a General Contractor, retired and he and his wife worked on the road as an Insurance Catastrophic Claims Adjuster for 11 years, then retired in Kanab 22 years ago.

George had a passion for outdoors and traveling. He enjoyed being Santa Claus at many schools, parades & private events. He enjoyed playing golf. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his readiness to help others, and his deep devotion to his Catholic faith and church. George loved sharing his knowledge and life stories with his family and friends, passing down wisdom and memories. He loved the open road in his motor home, camping, ATV, and fishing. He possessed an inviting laugh that made everyone feel welcome, and he beautifully ended every conversation with the words, “God Bless.”

George is survived by his wife, DaFamay Reese; his children, Kristine & Joe Owens and Shannon Perez; his grandchildren, Jason & Rebecca Gillham, USMC Veteran, Marcus Gillham, USMC Veteran, Gunnery Sergeant Steven & Veronica Gillham, Joseph & Heather Owens, Janeen & Bryer Bidegain; and 12 great-grandchildren: Noel, Presley, Cheyanne, Kayla, Aubriel, Aurora, Connor, Eleanor, Keaton, Charlotte, Avalina, and Everett. He also leaves behind his puppy, Bentley.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Reese; his son, Tracy Woods; his brothers, Richard, Bill, Frank Reese; sister Mable; his biological parents, Joe & Margaret; and his adopted parents, Sebastián and Cecilia Wald.

A memorial service will be held at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church at 39 W 200 S, Kanab, UT 84741 on Aug 8th, 2026, at 9:00 am. Flowers may be sent directly to Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church or donations to the church. Reception to follow cemetery service in the church hall.
