Donna Gae Hamblin Burgoyne was born April 9, 1937 in Anaheim, California to Antone and LaDonna Chamberlain Hamblin. She was the first born of five children, and only weighed 3 lbs at birth. Her parents let her sleep in a shoe box by the open oven door to keep her warm. She passed away October 2, 2018 at her home in Kanab, Utah.

Donna grew up in Kanab with close relatives she cherished. She attended Kanab High School where she participated in nearly every school activity. In her teen years, she worked for her Aunt Laura and Uncle Garth Chamberlain at Moqui Cave, and later was a clerk at Kanab Drug. On July 20, 1956, she married her high school sweetheart Roscoe Hamblin Burgoyne in the Saint George LDS Temple. They then moved to Los Angeles, California, where Roscoe was attending the University of Southern California. After his graduation, he joined the Air Force. She had a beautiful singing voice and was the author of many wonderful poems.

After retirement in 1985, they moved back home to Kanab. Donna loved Kanab, the K hill and the surrounding area, especially Navajo Lake. This was her home. She was so happy to be back close with her friends and relatives.
