Dan Elton Rife passed away on August 3, 2022, in Kanab, Utah at the age of 79. Dan was born on May 12, 1943, in Stibinite, Idaho. Son of Eugene W. Rife and Opal Pearl Whaley.

He is survived by his sister Glena Simpson; three children Shane Rife, Shelly (Brent) Kotter, and Geno Rife, with nine more grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He has preceded in death by both his parents and sister Collene Ramsay, his first wife Dorthy Wierdsma, and his second wife Judith Menzelli. He met and married Judith in 2010 enlarging his family with four more children; Rene (Daniel) Tucker, Donna (Cordell) Hellstrom, Kelly (Larry) Jackson and Tod (Becky) Clift; with 18 more grand-children and 34 great- grandchildren.

Dan was a highly respected stone mason, and his work can be seen all over the Kanab area. He was an avid hiker and backpacker and hiked the Grand Canyon many many times.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 6, 2022. It will be an open house from 11am to 3pm at Dan’s residence, 334 west Johnson Drive Kanab, Utah.
