CHRISTOPHER VOGEL

Christopher Edwin Vogel, 44, of Page, Arizona, passed away on January 8, 2019, at his home in Page.

Chris was born in Yuma, Arizona, to Lynn and Albert Vogel, Jr. on February 2, 1975.  In 1980 the family moved to Page when Chris’s father accepted the manager position with the telephone company.  Chris (nicknamed Jiff by his friends) attended school in Page, graduated from Page High School and went on to attend Northern Arizona University.  After college, Chris went into the cellular business in Flagstaff, and then the Phoenix area for several years at Alltel Corporate.  He returned home to Page and went to work for the family construction company as an administrative assistant.  In 2010, he attained his swimming pool certification and formed Jiffy Pools, LLC in 2015.  He also continued to work part time for Lake Powell Construction.   His success became well known as “The Pool Guy” and could pretty much troubleshoot and solve any problems associated with spas and pools.  He was always so proud that he could balance water to sparkle like diamonds, and temperatures to a perfect ninety two degrees if that’s what you wanted.

Patricia Ott came into his life seven years ago and became the love of his life and was readily adopted by all in the family.  He loved her dearly as she did him as well.  He never hesitated to say, “I love you,” on a daily basis to those closest to him; and we will miss his humor, and sometimes his philosophical ways.

His close buddy was Kevin Hancock, who passed away with him on the same day.  They each built a classic 2-cycle three wheeler in the garage from the ground up.  Many hours were spent fine tuning everything to perfection, with Supercross stimulating the process on the large screen tv.  There was more than one “midnight test ride” that woke up the entire neighborhood.

He enjoyed the lake and riding his bike on desert runs with his friends.  Chris played a mean game of racquetball and organized a team of “A” league players for racquetball nights in the company racquetball court .

Chris is preceded in death by his father, Albert Vogel, Jr. and his  grandmother, Janina Borg.

He is survived by his mother, Lynn; his stepfather Jim Arnold; his partner, Patricia Ott; his brother, Jim Boswell (Andrea); his sister, Sara Vogel Barney (AJ); and three nieces and two nephews.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 17th  from 10 – 11 AM; Funeral services will be held from 11 – 12 noon at Faith Bible Chapel,

551 San Francisco Road, with the Pastor Manny Parks officiating.   Cremation will follow, at a later date, with interment at the Page City Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mosdell Mortuary, Kanab, UT.

The family wishes to extend our sincerest appreciation to the Page Fire Department EMT’s for their expertise and tireless efforts; and to the Page Police Department for their kindness and respect of family during this difficult time.
