Christie was close to all her cousins. JoAnn, Zolene and she were not only cousins but also best friends being the same age and living so close to each other. Her school days best friend was Janice Blanchard and, they remained close until Janice passed away.

Christie married Ben Broadbent Hamblin at the young age of 15. They started their family when Christie was just 17. They had 4 children RaeLene (Scott) Johnson, Joe Del -deceased (Marsha) Hamblin, Mark Benny (Corinne) Hamblin and Robin (Michael) Kindt. She and Ben later divorced. They traveled to Alaska and Nauvoo driving the entire way both times. Fishing was one of their favorite activities and Christie took pride in being able to out fish everyone.

One of Christie’s biggest joys was working in the Kane County Volunteer Center AKA The Thrift Store, and all who worked with her. She loved to cook, golf, read, paint, sew, and quilt.
