Our very special person, Charlotte, passed away suddenly February 26th, at home in Yucaipa, Calif. She left this world with the dignity she has possessed all her life. Charlotte was born in Kanab, UT to Clyde and Julia Young on July 22, 1943. She was married to Lee for 55 ½ years. The Lord picked out a special treasure for Lee. They were residents of Yucaipa, CA for 52 years. Charlotte worked alongside her husband to build their farrier supply business over the last 48 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wilson Creek Ward, in Yucaipa.
Lee and Charlotte have 3 children: daughter LesLee Hernandez and her husband Felix, son Portor Greenhalgh (Green), daughter Audrie Salsbury and her husband Bobby. In total they have 10 grandchildren- Tanner, Hailee, Tarryn, Ashley, Tiana, Savanah, Sydney, Tessa, Vanessa and Erik. They also have 11 great grandchildren- Jaxon, Ellie, Cambria, Camden, Kennedy, Wyatt, Layne, Everlee, Peyton, Brooklyn, Mateo, with 2 more on the way!
Gone on before her are her parents, Julia and Clyde, her sister Veon, and two of her brothers Brigham and David. Still to meet her in heaven is her brother Romel, and her sisters, Venita Boren, Carla Griffiths, Nancy Merrell, and Jeri Bundy.
Charlotte suffered from heart failure after a lifetime of heart problems. You would not guess all of the hardships she has endured in her life, because she handled it all with such grace. She spent her life sharing her love. She never spoke an ill word towards anyone, and her love was unconditional. It didn’t matter if you had known her all your life, or were meeting her for the first time, you felt loved.
Her final resting place will be in Kanab, UT. Family and friends will join at her grave site on March 13th at 1:00pm in the Kanab Cemetery. Services were arranged with Mosdell Mortuary.
Charlotte going on ahead of us leaves a tremendous void to all of her family and friends.
Dear Lee and family. So saddened for your loss. Phil and I are sending our deepest heartfelt sympathy. Hoping you find peace and we were so sorry the weather kept us from coming to the funeral. God bless. Love, Kat and Phil
