Charlett Bistline

Our dear mother and grandmother Charlett Zitting Bistline passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 4, 2021, due to kidney failure. She was born on January 3rd, 1946 in Murray, Utah to Charles Frederick Zitting and Essie Francis Stokes. Charlett was united in marriage to Francis Lee Bistline Sr. on September 28, 1963.
Charlett found a ride to Short Creek, AZ when she was 12 yrs old to live with her sisters.
She attended The Academy in Short Creek and later did some nursing school in Salt Lake City. She missed her young children terribly, and decided to quit nursing school to be at home with them. Later when some of her children had grown she became a 24 hour caretaker for the elderly in their homes for many years up until 66 yrs old.
Charlett loved her children and those of her sister wives. She always wanted to have a good time, and would load all the kids up to go out on the AZ strip, on a hike, or down the creek for a marshmallow and weenie roast. She baked, sewed, did laundry galore, and whatever else it took to show love. She loved music and singing, especially piano music. She would always say “Include everyone, and be considerate of your neighbor”. Her example of love and forgiveness will not be forgotten.
Charlett is preceded in death by her husband Lee, her sister wives Elaine and Naomi, her daughters Jennie Lu Bistline, Kathleen Barlow (Brigham), and Sherri Pledger (Joseph). She is survived by her sister Mable Meldrum, her brother Louis Zitting, her children Louis Bistline (Dawna), Lee Ann Barlow, Beverly Fischer, David Bistline, Bonnie Bistline, Daniel Bistline (Anne), Leslie Bistline, Jason Bistline, Dawn Black (Ken), James Bistline, Amanda Knudson (EJ), Gina Rohbock, Kurtis Bistline (Gloria), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
