He was born in 1954 to Augusta Ann Black and Victor Moeller in Morenci, Arizona where he loved spending his summers in Hatch, New Mexico with his grandparents beginning at the young age of five.  He learned many invaluable skills from his grandfather, such as picking cotton and grapes in the fields as well as planting Hatch green chilies. Many of his most cherished memories were those spent with his grandparents.

As a teenager he loved playing on the High school football team at Alhambra High school in Phoenix, Arizona. Burley was built for football. His coach saw this during his Freshman year and put him to work on offensive and defensive tackle positions. He started on the varsity team beginning his Freshman year. Upon graduation he was given the opportunity to play on the first expansion football team in Arizona. He attended college at NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona where he later graduated with an Engineering degree.

He worked at WL Gore in Flagstaff as a maintenance supervisor. He successfully continued utilizing his degree in mining for many years at Asarco in Kearny, Arizona. Later he was offered the opportunity he’d dreamt of for years. He was offered a position to supervise a team using microbials at Phelps Dodge in Bagdad, Arizona.

Burley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mostly being in the wilderness simply for pleasure.  He had a passion for football and enjoyed watching countless games with his family.  Burley enjoyed a relationship with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior as well.  He is and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
