Bernadette Bistline

Our wife, mother and grandmother Bernadette Luzong Guiao Bistline, recently of Fallon, NV, suddenly passed away on Saturday, September 4th, 2021. She spent her final hours at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada surrounded by her children and her loving husband. She was 53.

Bernadette was born November 24th 1967 at Capas, Tarlac in the Republic of the Philippines to Ernesto and Arsenia Guiao. She lived on the island of Luzon until moving to the U.S. in 1986. She married Daniel Anderson and bore two daughters; Rachel Marie who was born in the Republic of the Philippines and Stephany Kay Anderson who was born in Washington State. After her first marriage ended, she met and married Dowayne Bistline and bore a son, Matthew Curtis Bistline. She was married to Dowayne for nearly 33 years before her life was tragically cut short by a heart attack. She was preceded in death by her sister Amelia and her mother Arsenia.

She will be greatly missed as she was a loving Mother, a fiercely loyal friend and a highly engaging person in general. She was an amazing cook, kept a spotless home and heaped love and care on all she knew. She loved all animals, had an incredible green thumb and was talented in many other things such as dress making, sewing, designing and decorating clothing. Always friendly, her smile lit up any room she entered. During her marriage to Dowayne, she served as Ombudsman in multiple Navy Aviation Squadrons at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington. In that capacity, she acted as a liaison between service member’s families and units while they were deployed. During her tenure, she assisted over 600 families while their loved ones were overseas and aboard ships.

Leaving behind a legacy of love and caring, she is survived by her father Ernesto Guiao; brothers Gener, Raphael and Clemen Guiao; and sisters Evangeline Johnson, Arlene Garcia, Rosaline Pinangbatan, Beverly Harris and Arceley Guiao. Her grandchildren are Dawson and Amoura Junck.

I’m really sorry for the loss of my friend Bernie. and I want to thank Dowayne for reaching out and letting me know the sad news.
I wished I will be with the family on her final destination . Girlfriend I love you and goodbye…till we meet again.

Bernie is a friend of mine when she lives in California, my first friend when I arrived here in US. We worked together and Matthew the son used to play with my daughter. She will took the kids around when I’m working.
Bernie is a Sweetheart , I cannot believe that I lost her. We talked in the phone and I told her that I will let her fly to California to catch up and never happened because of Covid.
I cried why I didn’t let her come in California earlier..You always in my thoughts my dearest friend… REST in PEACE.
