Barbara White

Barbara Huntington White was born January 1, 1934 in Pasadena, CA and left this life early on June 3, 2022 in St. George, UT.

She was almost born at the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA on New Years’ Day due to her mom’s insistence that she stay for the parade – even though she was in labor! Her family later moved from Pasadena to Santa Monica then to Caliente, NV where they lived until she was 11 years old, and they moved to Las Vegas where mom considered home for many years. When she moved to Kanab she said she felt very blessed to have two wonderful places to call home.

She was quite popular growing up, though she didn’t consider herself so. She was outgoing as and touched many lives up til the very end. In her later teen years in LV she was a fan of dragging Fremont St., water skiing, horseback riding, motorcycles, ballroom dancing, singing, piano, live plays, anything that involved music. She was an accomplished pianist, organist and vocalist. In her early music career she was the Los Angeles Stake music director, and she conducted a 600-voice choir at the Hollywood Bowl. She was often sought after to professionally sing on many occasions. She received degrees from BYU, Provo and USC, Los Angeles focusing on elementary education.

Despite all her accomplishments nothing meant more to her than her faith and family, and she was extremely dedicated to them both. She loved and felt purpose in serving others. She prayed her hands would be spared of the arthritis that consumed so much of her body so she could continue to serve others in that capacity. Her life and thoughts revolved around her family. Nothing could compare to the love she had for her husband and children.

Waiting for her on June 3, 2022 was her loving husband Orson White; parents Clifford/June Huntington; Step-mom Hazel Huntington; her sister Berniece Pursel, and brother Jack Huntington.

She is survived by her six children, Jeff (& Michelle) White, Las Vegas, NV; Timothy White (& Michael Snow), Quillan, FR; Jane (& Marson) Keller, Kanab, UT; Rose (& Ron) Bergloff, Highlands Ranch, CO; Bill White (& Jackie Kajzer) Hermosa Beach, CA and, David White, Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by 11 grandkids, 18 great grands and 4 great-great grands.
It was Barbara’s wish to be interred with her husband in Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.

Bless you Marson and Jane, sorry you lost one of your angels to soon. I do see where that talent has been left. Sorry that you are going through this difficult time and that you will find comfort that you need to sustain you through the troubled waters you are enduring.
