Our beautiful mother, Granny, aunt, sister and friend Barbara Kay Clendennen passed away on December 18, 2023 which left an emptiness in the hearts of all those that loved and knew her.
Barbara was born August 23, 1945 in Salem, Oregon to Sterling (Punk) and Florence Simpson and had 2 siblings whom she loved dearly, Danny (Button) Floyd Simpson and Wilma Jean Simpson.
Barbara started her schooling in Alpine, AZ, did her high school years in Springerville, where she was big into baton twirling with friends and classmates. She left school at the age of 16 and later received her GED.
Barbara met the love of her life Coy Neil Clendennen and they were married July 10, 1961 in Lordsburg, NM and were later blessed with 2 wonderful daughters. Coyla (Kevin) McKinney and Bonnie (Ron) Parker.
Her life was then blessed with 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Barbara used her many skills and talents to work just about anywhere she wanted to. She was a waitress, housekeeper, worked road construction with her daughers and finally retired from Stamping Up after 2 courageous battles fighting lung and brain cancer.
Barbara’s top priority was family. They came above anything else in her life. She loved sewing and crocheting beautiful gifts for them that they will be able to cherish and pass down to their children. Bears, blankets and shirts were some of her most prized gifts that her family enjoyed. Later in life after her battle with cancer, trying to remember how to sew, she made her husband Coy a shirt and had accidentally sewed the collar on upside down. No one wanted to tell her about her mistake, so they didn’t and Coy wore the heck out of that shirt! It was always his favorite!
He was probably wearing it at their heavenly reunion.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Coy Clendennen, sister Wilma Green and grandson Cody McKinney.
Barbara touched so many lives with her beautiful smile and her love and compassion for others. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Jan. 5, 2024, at Mosdell Mortuary. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.
She touched so many lives. Our prayers are with you at this difficult timeā¦ love always, Amos and Sarah
