It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Lawrence. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the age of 78, he passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born July 17, 1946 in San Diego California, to Richard and Arlene Lawrence. Tom spent the majority of his life in Arizona. This is where he raised his own family. After high school Tom joined the navy, where he spent time in Vietnam. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran. After returning from Vietnam, he married and had a family that he raised in Kingman Arizona. In 1984 he reunited with his high school sweetheart, Mary Cisney. They married in June of 1985, and raised a blended family together. In 1989 they relocated to Kanab Utah, and after a short time they moved to Fredonia Arizona.
Tom, lovingly referred to as pops or papa by most of those who knew him, was what his son in law Bryan would call a renaissance man. He had a knowledge of just about anything. He was a mechanic, chiropractor, comedian, and knew just about everything. He always had a story to tell, and had a joke at the ready. There was never a dull moment, or room without laughter when he was around.
Tom is survived by his sister Nora Dimmick, his 3 children, Donna (Nathan) Spencer, Rebecca (Bryan) Elliott, and Cody Lawrence. His grandchildren Brittney (Billy) Schaffer, Christopher (Janae) Mannarelli, Lillee Spencer, Andrew (Teresa) Ferguson, Vanessa Hartford, Shadd Hartford, Micheal Hartford, and 13 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lawrence, siblings Lorna, Curtis, Carl, and Dickie Sue Lawrence, son Dana Hartford, granddaughter Kasey Ferguson, and great grandsons Zebby Blevins and Ronan Ferguson.
Services for Tom will be held Saturday March 22, 2025 at 2pm at Mosdell Mortuary, located at 676 US-89A Kanab, Utah 84741
