January 22, 1947 – November 29, 2025
Clyde Lee “Pete” Smith, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on January 22, 1947, in Kenilworth, Utah, to Maurice and Emma Arzella Smith. The second of three children, Pete grew up in Orem, Utah, and graduated from Orem High School.
Pete proudly served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War starting in Germany and later sent to Vietnam. After returning home, he met Shirley Houston in Cedar City, and they spent 54 years together building a family and a life full of love.
Pete graduated from Utah Technical College as an Instrument Technician and worked in Green River, Wyoming, and for SRP in Page, Arizona, where he retired after 36 years. He was also a dedicated member of his community, serving in the bishopric and as a Scoutmaster in Page for many years.
He was a devoted father to Bobi Jo (Vance Riggins), Brent (Isis Smith), Mistie (Mala Ci Baird), and Kasey (Aaron Davis), and a proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Pete was known for his kindness, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family.
Pete’s family and friends will always remember his integrity, sense of humor, and loyalty. He touched many lives, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 6th, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Kanab Stake Center, 20 West Center Street. There will be a viewing from 11:30 to 12:45 prior to the Funeral. Burial in the Kanab Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
