Alvin Archie Mampel Jr died at his home in Kanab, Utah on March 27, 2023. He was born on June 18, 1931 in Norman, Oklahoma, a big baby weighing in at 11 pounds. He was raised in Minnesota and lived there with his dad, Alvin Sr.
Alvin married his lovely wife, Laura, on July 17, 1952. Last summer they celebrated their 70th anniversary with family and friends. They have one son, Scott, and one daughter, Michelle. They moved to Kanab from Las Vegas in 1998 to be a part of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where they found a very loving family of brothers and sisters.
Alvin was a mechanic by trade and could fix anything. He taught his son well, who became an excellent mechanic also. He taught his daughter the basics of mechanics, too.
Alvin learned the truth from God’s Word and became a baptized Jehovah’s Witness in 1958. He loved to tell people about God’s Kingdom and how it will bring about peace and a paradise to this earth. His hope is to be resurrected right here on this earth when God is ruling.
One of Alvin’s trademarks was his big smile. He inherited his happy disposition from his Mom, Georgia. Even in his declining years, he was happy and always had a smile on his face.
Alvin is survived by his wife Laura; son Scott; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Alan; 2 grandchildren Jennifer and Jonah; 4 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and his brother Arthur Mampel who he enjoyed getting reacquainted with in recent months.
A special thanks to Zion’s Way Home Health for their loving care, Nicole and Lexie and all the nurses who came to our assistance so we were able to care for Dad at home. You helped us fulfill his wish to continue to live at home until his death. Thank You! We couldn’t have done it without you!
Cremation was arranged with Mosdell Mortuary, and a memorial service for Al at the Kingdom Hall in Kanab will be held on April 22, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
Alvin Mampel Jr.

I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I know he will be missed terribly. Hopefully time will pass very fast so you can hug him again 🤗
Thank you for your thoughts, I appreciate your encouraging thoughts so much. We feel as you do, the end is so close, very very soon we will welcome him back in his new perfect body when he is resurrected into the paradise earth, Then the earth and everything in it will be rejuvenated to its perfect splendor that Jehovah god purposed when he originally created it before Satan caused everlasting life to be lost for Adam and his descendants. No more wicked people or spirit creatures, no more wickedness, war, sickness, or death. Jehovah and his master worker only begotten son, Jesus, will make all things new.
your friend and spiritual brother, Alan
Dear Lisa, thank you for your kind message. He wanted to see the end so badly. But we will all have to tell him about it. Sending love from, Michelle, Alan and Laura.
So sorry for your loss, dear ones. May Jehovah hold you all close until his glorious day when he calls AL and all our loved ones back to a full life in full health. Love and prayers. Carol Santana (formally E. Charleston Cong.). Nahum 1:7.
Thank you so much for your loving thoughts, Nahum is so encouraging at this time.
Nah.1:7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him.
It reminds us that almighty God, Jehovah is in complete control, and with his support and backing, we will succeed in gaining everlasting life in a paradise earth, like he has promised. True refuge or safety comes from having a close relationship with him, and his only begotten son, Jesus.Christ.
Alvin had that relationship, and that is a guarantee that we will see him in the paradise earth soon to come.
Thank you so much, your spiritual, brother and sister, Alan and Michelle Montgomery.
We appreciate your kind comments and support. Thank you, Michelle, Alan, and Laura

Yes Joni. I loved how you loved my dad. We were all hoping he could see the end, but his body just gave out. I can’t wait to see his smile in the new world too. You and I can tell him all about the end of this wicked world. Love you♥️
Our dear friends, we are so saddened to hear of your loss. May Jehovah comfort your grieving hearts. We’ve lost a true gem of a man, but not for long. Soon our loving God will say “ Alvin, rise!” The reunion will be sensational.

Dear Jim and Robyn, thank you for your loving words of comfort. Grief takes the joy out of living. What would we do without our hope? Love you both, Michelle
To us Alvin was more than a spiritual brother, he was a fellow worker in the preaching work, he was a mentor, a source of inspiration, he was our older brother he was family. We
cherish fondly every hour we had the privilege to spend in service with him. Daniel 2:44 was the scripture he shared the most with people he met. Last year I asked
him: about his 70 years that he spent with his beloved Laura and he got emotional. BIG BABY from the beginning in Oklahoma to end. In Utah. See you soon BIG BABY Even if for little time you’ll be missed.
We are so glad you were able to visit us last summer and see Alvin, Laura Michelle and me, we love that selfie you took in the first front yard. You guys really meet the definition of close, friends, how much we appreciate you and your loving words that you have lovingly sent. This wicked system is difficult.and hard to deal with like the Bible says, but our global United brotherhood helps all of us endure faithfully in mimmitation of Jesus, our exemplar and leader. T
hank you for all the help that you have given us.
Brothers, Alan and Michelle.
Dear Mario and Lori,
I am sure that Daniel 2:44 was dad’s favorite scripture. You are right, he loved to share it with people and talk about God’s kingdom. Last night we celebrated our 65th memorial as a family without my beloved dad. It was a very hard day for us because he wanted to be there so bad. He and mom were making plans about what he would wear and looking forward to the day. Instead, we will tell him all about it in the new world. We are so glad we got to see you last summer. And that you got to spend a little time with dad and talk to him about his wife of 70 years. She is really missing him. Love you guys so much, Michelle.
Thank you so much for your loving comment, I tried to add a message a while ago, and it disappeared. So if I have two comments, that’s the reason why. We want to thank the both of you, for all your loving encouragement you show. Especially visiting us last summer, what a joy it was to see you and have the interchange of encouragement.. Especially, we love the selfie that you took in the Mampel‘s front yard with Crescent butte in the background. What a good picture to revitalize our memories of good times. Thank you so much for your encouragement and your friendship. These last days are full of critical times hard to deal with, but we have a worldwide brotherhood that. strengthens our determination to Jehovah God, and his son Jesus Christ. We have Christ’s example of faithfulness under extreme pressure to compromise his integrity and faithfulness to Jehovah, as we were reminded about at the memorial of Christ’s death last night. Thank you so much for all you have done.
Your brothers, Allan, and Michelle Montgomery.
