Rosalie Woodside

Rosalie Hunt Woodside passed away June 14th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Rosalie was born in snowflake Arizona on Sept 5, 1945 to Ross and Pauline Hunt. She was fourth of nine children.

Rose was a very hard worker and an independent woman. She was a wonderful beautician , earning her license in California and working in a few beauty shops in this area where she made life long friends from coworkers and clients. She waited tables at Nedra’s and Chefs Palace where so also created life long friendships and fond memories. Rosalie was the retail manager at Natures Showcase for years and enjoyed working with the public.

Rose married Bill Martin, where she received her greatest blessing, her beautiful, amazing, perfect daughter, me! (I’m writing this) . It was love at first sight between my mom and me. She later divorced and became a single mother, where she worked even harder to provide for her daughter and herself. She has two grandchildren Ciara Rose Black (Austen Utter) and Christopher Cyle Snow (Hailee Upchurch) Three great grandchildren, Zachary Lee Snow, Corbin Dean Utter, and Kimber Rose Utter, who were the light of her life.

During her life she moved a lot, several states, towns, and houses. Everywhere she lived her house was decorated so darling, especially her kitchen with her mice and strawberries. She had such a gift of turning every house she lived into a home. Later in life she reconnected with her childhood dear friend Claude Woodside and the courting began. They fell in love and were sealed in the St. George temple on December 29th 2006, for all time and eternity and they have been inseparable since. His daughters and their families welcomed her with open arms and she was rewarded with three beautiful bonus daughters, son in laws and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and adored.

Rose was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a Primary teacher and in the presidency, she loved teaching her little Primary kids through the years. She also served in the Relief Society Presidency in Milford Utah and enjoyed that calling very much. She was such a beacon of love, especially to children. She was a mother figure to many that didn’t have the best start of life, her unconditional love and attention have been brought to light these last few days. So many messages of fondness, love and appreciation to “Aunt” Rose for her part in their lives. What a legacy.

She was proceeded in death by her mom and dad, Ross and Pauline Hunt, her beautiful sister Manita Towell, brothers in law, a sister in law, nephews, a niece, aunts, uncles and cousins. She had a full house waiting with open arms to welcome her.

Rose is survived by her husband Claude Woodside, daughters Cindy Martin (Candon Williams), Mary Lou (Bly) Hatch Carol (Rob) Doerr, Amy Woodside. Grandchildren, and great grandchildren, her brothers, Larry (Jo deceased) Hunt, Lynn (Fayon) Hunt, Lloyd (Tina) Hunt, Eldon (Carol) Hunt. Her Sisters and best friends Janice (Rich, deceased) Coughanour, Susanna Fitting (Jerry Fitting deceased, Russ Fowler), Cindy (Ken) Brown. Her many beloved Nieces and Nephews.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Jordon Hatch, Jenell Stovall, and the entire Zions Way staff for their care and compassion during the last year.
