Rene’e Jackson

Carol Rene’e Budge Jackson, age 75, died in Kanab, Utah on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 9, 1947 in Logan, Utah to Carl Jean Johnson and Mack Shepherd Budge. She had two sons from a previous marriage, Doug and Roger Taylor, and was married to Sam Jackson on April 1, 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rene’e spent her youth in Logan, Provo, and Price, Utah. She was a beloved wife and a caring mother. She loved to express herself with her artwork. She was a lover of the outdoors and everything in it: fishing, hunting, and archeology. She was an office manager for Willamette Construction, with projects at Wake Island and the Pacific areas. She taught ceramics and Art at Mackay Idaho High School for two years. She owned and operated a ceramic and art business in Moore, Idaho for 20 years while raising and caring for a large flock of registered Rambouillet sheep.
Rene’e had a never ending love for all people and respected all things. She touched the lives of so many and was loved and respected by all of them. She was proud of her heritage and enjoyed telling stories that had been handed down through the family, especially of the time her grandfather was a mission president in Berlin, Germany during the rise of Hitler.
Through it all, Rene’e was a fighter, facing a series of health obstacles that would have overwhelmed most. Her great spirit and tenacity in her small body will be remembered and honored by all of her family and friends for years to come. Her nickname of “Budgebee” combined her maiden name of Budge with the work ethic and determination of a honey bee.
“According to aerodynamics, The bee is unable to fly, body’s too heavy for wings to support, strange that it might even try.”
