Dave Kropf

David LeRoy Kropf passed away peacefully at home with his “Sweetie Pie” (Marcie) by his side on April 17, 2022.

Dave was born in Salt Lake City, UT on July 4, 1953, to LeRoy and Barbara Kropf. Dave was the oldest of 5 children. He graduated from Granite High School in 1971.

Dave worked hard all his life, never slowing down. He loved painting cars and was very skilled in this profession. He was also a great mechanic, but always told his boys to “work with your brain and not your back.” After having to retire due to health issues, Dave started making walking sticks. He enjoyed this very much and sold them to several businesses in Kanab.

Dave married the love of his life, Marcie Kropf on Aug 2, 2000. Together they blended 2 families. Dave loved life and was always the comedian wherever he went. People just instantly liked Dave. He was a very kind soul and would do anything for anyone.

Fishing was his passion. He loved teaching the grandkids how to fish. Dave and his best friend, Hodder (Eugene Henderson) were the best fishing buddies. They always had great fishing stories about “the big one that got away.”

Dave was a great husband, father and grandpa. He will be missed by all his family and his many friends.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Marcie; 4 siblings, Julie (Mike) Tyler, Alan (Shauna) Kropf, Aaron (Angie) Kropf, Jared (Ivy) Kropf; 5 sons, Dusty (MaryAnn) Castor, Jessie (Melanie) Kropf, Danny (Jayra) Castor, Matthew (Eliza) Kropf, and David (RaShea) Castor; 12 Grandkids who he loved more than anything, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, LeRoy McCain Kropf and his mom, Barbara Yardley Kropf

Services will be held at Mosdell Mortuary on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
