Billy Crosby

On August 20, 2021, Heavenly Father summoned a true hero back home.  William Maurice Crosby, better known as Billy or Sergeant Crosby, fought his last battle with illness and peacefully passed away with his loving family at his side.  Billy was born on March 3, 1971 to William (Bob) and Karen Crosby.  He grew up in Alton, Ut.  He has 5 siblings, Eva (Dirk) Durfey, Gwen (Mike) Duffy, Wendy (Bert) Harris, Charles (Heidi) Crosby and Kenneth Crosby.  Never able to have a child of his own, Billy poured his love into his nieces and nephews.  They adored him.  Billy served a 2 year mission for the LDS church in the state of Oklahoma. On December 7, 2013 he married his soul mate, Terri Crosby.  She was the love of his life.  He would light up every time when she walked into the room.

Billy liked playing baseball; he was a great pitcher!  He like hunting, listening to music, being out in the hills, cooking out, being with family, and, most of all, spending time with his wife.

For 22 years, Billy dedicated his life to the Kanab Police Department as an officer and to Kane County as a medical examiner.  He was a humanitarian and loved serving his community and the people of Kanab.  He treated people with dignity, kindness and respect.  He found good in every person he met.  He touched the lives of many people in Kanab and in turn earned their respect.  We will forever be proud of him for his service. We love you Billy and will miss you like crazy, until we see you again!

Services for Billy will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the North Event Center, 475 East State Street, Orderville, Utah (located on the west side of highway 89 between Orderville and Glendale, Utah.) Burial will be in the Kanab Cemetery following services.  Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.

Terri so sorry for your loss… please remember that after things have went back to normal for everybody else and you’re still trying to figure out what new normal is, that your friends will be there any time you need them and we all love you so much! You are special lady and Billy knew it!

You asked for stories on your Facebook page… So I will tell you my story: I’m sure you remember when I got drawn out and I dunno how you talked Billy into taking us out and getting me a deer but he did and I shot that gun for years and the one time it jams I’m riding with a police officer! And a deer in the perfect position no less! but he was so patient and helped me get the gun unjammed n got my tag filled! Im sure Carl and I have several others but that’s my favorite 😊

I’ll miss all the fun camping trips and entertaining stories, all the while with that trusty toothpick in your teeth. Thank you for adding character to my childhood. Love you, Billy.
