Amanda Hatch

Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Amanda Michell Hatch, 30, of West Jordan, Utah returned to her Heavenly Parents on May 7, 2018.

Amanda was born March 4, 1988 to Michael and Michell Hatch in Kanab, Utah. When Amanda was eight years old she started to lose her eyesight. To better her education, Amanda’s parents moved her closer to more suitable schools and doctors in West Jordan. There she graduated from West Jordan High School in 2006. For the next several years Amanda played on the Salt Lake blind goalball team where she exercised her competitiveness and truly enjoyed her time spent with friends.

Throughout her entire life Amanda loved to sing and dance, and if you were to sneak into her room you would be impressed with her talent. Her giggle was contagious; especially with her nephews and nieces who she enjoyed spending time with greatly.

It was obvious from a young age that there was something very special about Amanda. Very few people in this world possess the light; the light that can brighten any room, the light that can shine in the darkest of times, the light that reminds us all why we are truly here on this earth. Amanda had that light and she carried it everywhere she went. She loved her Heavenly Father; she spoke of Him and Heaven often and the things she was going to do when she got there. Amanda’s faith in what awaits was an inspiration to all who were close to her, and while her sweet spirit will be missed deeply, how great is her reward.

She is survived by her parents; sister Carly (Kevin) Grymes; brother Dan (Jordan) Hatch; nephews Ashton and Izaak; nieces Bailee, Madisyn, Jaylie, Alexis, and Amilya; grandparents Lewis & Jill Sidwell, Richard & Rosalie Dame; aunts; uncles, cousins, and friends.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandpa MacRay Hatch, her aunt Joni, her uncle Jeffrey, and her cousin Porter.

There will be a viewing in West Jordan, Utah on May 11, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a viewing and funeral in Kanab, Utah on May 12, viewing from 11 to noon, followed directly by the funeral at the Kaibab Stake Center. Interment in the Kanab City Cemetery.
