Clark Jaques

Clark Whitney Jaques, born on August 22, 1941, in Montrose, Colorado, to Barbara Jean Olson and Elmer Madison Jaques, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, in Green Valley, Arizona, at the age of 83.

Clark graduated from Nyssa High School in 1959, and later attended the University of Oregon. Clark married Marilyn Lee Pratt on July 29, 1961, a union later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. Together, they raised four children: David, Clain, Andrea, and Matthew. After Marilyn’s passing, Clark remarried to Konnie Goodwin Priest, whom he married on October 10, 2010. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Utah Temple.

A veteran of the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, Clark joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1962 while serving. His faith became a cornerstone of his life as he served in numerous callings including Counselor in the Bishopric, High Councilor (where he cherished serving on the Navajo Reservation), and as a temple worker in both the St. George Utah and Meridian Idaho Temples.

In 1975, Clark moved his family to Page, Arizona. Over the years he managed the Village Inn Pizza Parlor, D. Stevens Department Store, and KPGE/KXAZ radio stations before retiring as director of recreation for the City of Page. He played a pivotal role in building the Page Sports Complex and the development of the Rim Trail. He was deeply involved in Sand Devil sports as a booster, radio announcer, PA announcer and umpire. He particularly loved rec league softball, where he coached, played, and umpired innumerable games.

Clark will be remembered for his kindness and unwavering love for others. He truly embodied the principles of loving God and loving one’s neighbor.

Clark is also survived by his brother Gary (Renee) and their three children, and his four children – David, Clain (Michele), Andrea, and Matthew (Camille); his six grandchildren—Charlie, Chandler, Kristin, Madison, Michael, and Cooper—two great-grandchildren, Emery and Maggie; his stepsons Robert and Larry (Teri); and his step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marilyn, and his sister Sharen.

Funeral services will be held on January 18, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 318 S Lake Powell Blvd., Page, Arizona. A viewing will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a family prayer at 11:00 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

I sure loved Clark. He was a pivotal part of my teenage and young adult life. I worked closely with him when I was a lifeguard and he was the recreation director. I cherish the emails we exchanged after he moved to Idaho. He was a great man and will be sorely missed.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. Konnie and Clark were my neighbors and friends when we lived in Emmett Idaho. They both took me and my children in and treated us like family
Because of Konnie and Clark i was invited to visit the Mormon temple. It was such a blessing and a memory that will be with me forever.
Farwell Clark until we meet again in the kingdom of heaven. Sending you much love Clark and condolences to your family. Love always Sarah Austin and Ethan. 💕

We are so sorry about that. The Jaques were such nice friends. I loved the parties after our choir concerts. Our children were friends throughout their school years. We love all of you. JoAnn and Hershel Mosier.

Clark always took time to encourage and support the students at Page High. He made a difference and made you feel good about yourself. That is the measure of greatness. He will be missed for now, but not forever.

What a powerhouse of support he was for youth and adult sports in Page. He will live on for years and years through the Page Sports Complex and the Rim trail. I enjoyed many softball games watching and playing with him behind the plate umpiring. As did my whole family. Job well done Clark!! Thank you for your service. Rest in Peace
