Ben A. Wheatley, age 75, passed away January 27, 2020 in Fredonia, AZ. Ben was born January 8, 1945 in Tremonton, UT to Calvin Abraham Wheatley and Lucinda Robinson.
Ben married Jolene in 1978. Later divorced in 1989. Ben moved to Fredonia later in 1989 where he worked for Danny Peterson and other trucking companies until 1991 when he bought his own truck. Ben has worked for the Kaibab Paiute Indian tribe for 12-14 years.
Ben’s kids moved down to Fredonia in 1990. In 1996, Ben’s mother moved down to help him take care and raise his boys until 2011 when she passed away. Ben loved sports. He loved the Utah Jazz, BYU, and the San Fransisco 49ers but he loved youth sports the most. He supported the Fredonia Lynx until he had grand-kids that lived in Kanab.
Ben loved running his trucking company and was very proud of it, but his greatest loves were his horses and his family. He enjoyed working on the back of a horse for several farms and ranches around the area. He loved driving his wagon whenever given the chance – from parades to hay rides to even prom rides. His love of family was thicker than blood. His family is bigger than blood relation. He supported his kids every way he could. He loved teasing and spoiling his grand-kids – always buying treats and drinks whenever he could.
He will be missed so deeply and by so many. We love you Grandpa Ben, and we’ll see you later big buddy.
