Glen Crawford

Arthur Glen Crawford passed away at Kane County Hospital in Kanab, Utah on January 04, 2018 at age 78. He was born January 18, 1939 at home in Hazelton, Idaho, the son of Feneth Nathaniel Crawford and Laura Jeanette Mickelsen. He married Jill Irene Shellenbarger on December 4, 1965 in Canoga Park, California and was sealed in the Saint George Utah Temple on October 26, 1985.

Glen attended Valley High School in Hazelton, Idaho and then went to California to live with his sister and attended barber school. He joined the US Army and was a MP. He served from January 29, 1962 to January 28, 1964. He then attended College of Southern Idaho for an Associate’s degree in Sociology and Business management. Later he completed additional business classes at Southern Utah University.

He and Jill moved to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1966 and obtained employment with Wycoff trucking and worked for them for 18 years until they went out of business. Glen received a promotion to area manager and moved the family to Enoch, Utah in 1967. He opened new offices in Cedar City and Las Vegas. In 1985 he moved to Price, Utah where he opened his own business, Crawford Trucking. The family moved to Kanab, Utah in 1997 and Glen obtained a seasonal job with the US Forest Service, on the Kaibab, where he worked for about 7 years.

Glen has been married to Jill for 52 years. They were blessed with seven children and raised two grandchildren. He has 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. They were foster parents and had an Indian placement student while living in Enoch.

He is survived by his wife Jill and six of their children: Donya (Shane) Taylor (MT), Lance (Teresa) Crawford (Oakley, UT), Wendy (Jeremy) Garcia (Las Vegas, NV), Debra (Don) McLaren (TX), Nicole Crawford (Kanab), and Robert (Jessica) Crawford (Clinton, UT). He is also survived by his brother Jay (Raya) Crawford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters Arlene, Marion, Beverly, Maureen, Carma, one brother (Feneth 0.), and daughter, Casey (Gary) Brinkerhoff, one grandchild (Kyzer Crawford) and one great grandchild (Anthony Ross).

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018 at the LDS church located at 604 south 100 East in Kanab, Utah. Viewing preceded the services at 10:00. Burial with military honors by American Legion post 69 was in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements made with Mosdell Mortuary.
